MEO Business Development Center offers credit counseling : Maui Now

Residents facing worrisome credit debt or needing advice on managing their student loans can now turn to Maui Economic Opportunity’s Business Development Center for help.

The Business Development Center recently certified staff members on Maui and Moloka‘i as national consumer counseling professionals and expanded services by offering credit counseling services at no charge to the public.

BDC is known for instilling the skills entrepreneurs need to be successful through the Core Four Business Planning series, helping existing businesses expand with microloans and guidance and offering financial literacy classes to those interested in getting a grip on their budgets.

LSU Lands Small Business Development Center Director

Award-winning business consultant helps entrepreneurs reach their dreams

BATON ROUGE – Adam C. McCloskey has been named director of the Louisiana Small Business
Development Center at LSU. 

At LSU, McCloskey leads an office that provides no-cost consulting to small business
and aspiring entrepreneurs in the nine-parish capital region. The SBDC offers expert
advice on issues from cash-flow management, securing loans, business planning and
everything in between.  The LSU Center also has a statewide mandate to help companies
focused on bringing technology to market.

Hampstead land rezoned near U.S. 17 could become business development

Two developers working to bring more business to Hampstead near U.S. 17 received planning board approval for rezoning.

Peter S. Vinal, a real estate broker and owner of the TP Factory, LLC saw the Factory Road property on the market, which is near Hampstead Baptist Church. The 2.85 acres, less than a mile away from U.S. 17, was purchased with the assistance of his business partner, Dr. Thomas Melin.
