About Bob...

Background
My Dad was in the US. Airforce stationed at a SAC base near Lincoln, England when I was born. Hence, I'm a dual national...actually far more than that since my British nationality permits me an EU passport in addition to my US one. I grew up an Air Force brat...living on many SAC bases in the US and England. This is where I got my start as a traveler. I was doing road trips before I could walk. When he retired from the service we settled in San Diego, California. Easy place to live...especially during my extensive university years. I operated out of there for three decades. I'd go away...sometimes for years...but I always kept an address there. Picked up the skills..both academic and security related..to set me up for the future. With events of the last few years...and some of the more interesting moments of my past coming to fruition...I decided to move to a smaller venue. First stop was the desert near Palm Springs...broken by a year long gig in Hollywood...couldn't resist the money. Still have a place in La Quinta. Even at 30,000 population... and it's proximity to areas of questionable future control....I wanted something more remote. Plus the Coachella Valley is down wind of Los Angeles. I've established myself up in the Mother Lode country. That's the Sierra Nevadas for them what don't know. Interesting group of folks up here. Biggest town in the region is Sonora...only 5000. Lots of folks live up in the hills minding their own business. As Jerry said...been all around this world...but here in the mountains I'll make my stand...a rifle on my shoulder.
